Terms & Conditions for Voters
Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions of entry.
1. METHOD OF ENTRY:
- To enter, visit the competition website www.degreeofadventure.com during the competition period (Monday, 24 September 2007 - Friday, 7 December 2007) and vote for the 'Degree of Adventure' video clip you think is the best.
- At the close of voting, all entrants who voted for the video clip which receives the most votes will go into a draw to win one prize of $1000.
2. COMPETITION PERIOD
- Voting will commence at 4:00pm central standard time on Monday, 24 September 2007 and will conclude at 12:30pm central standard time on Friday, 7 December 2007.
3. CONDITIONS FOR VAILD ENTRY:
- Entry is open to all current Australian residents.
- Entrants must complete the online voting card with all valid contact details including full name, address, phone number and email address.
- By lodging your contact details you have agreed that you have read the terms and conditions that form a part of this competition.
- Only one vote per person will be counted in the lucky prize draw.
- Votes placed outside the competition period, as stated in these terms and conditions, will not be valid.
- The promoter (Charles Darwin University), in its absolute discretion, reserves the right to verify the validity of all entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, or submits an entry that is not in accordance with these conditions of entry.
- Employees of Charles Darwin University are not eligible to enter.
- If for any reason this lucky draw prize is not capable of running as planned as a result of (including but not limited to) technical failures, unauthorised intervention, fraud or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this lucky draw prize, the promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and subject to any written directions given by the Lottery Department of each Australian State/Territory to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the lucky draw prize.
- The Promoter reserves the right to request the winner to provide proof of identity and residency at the nominated prize delivery address.
- Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter.
4. NATURE AND VALUE OF THE PRIZES:
- One prize of $1000 will be awarded to one entrant in the lucky prize draw.
- The prize will be provided in the form of a cheque from Charles Darwin University.
5. THE DRAW:
- The draw will take place at Charles Darwin University, Ellengowan Drive, Casuarina at 4:00pm, Friday 7 December 2007.
- Entrants are NOT required to be present at the prize draw.
- All valid entries which successfully registered a vote for the film that has received the highest number of votes will be included in the lucky draw and one winner will be selected at random by a manual draw.
- The winner will be notified by phone on, or before 5pm, Friday 7 December 2007.
- The winner’s name will be announced on Territory FM on Monday 10 December 2007.
- The winner’s name will be published on the web at www.cdu.edu.au for a period of one month from the date of the draw.
- The winner’s name will be published in The Australian on Monday 10 December 2007.
- Following public notification and attempted phone notification, as described above, if the winner doesn’t come forward within six months from the date of the draw, the promoter reserves the right to re-draw from all other valid entries. The exact date of the re-draw will be 10 June 2008 at Charles Darwin University, Corporate Communications at 4:00pm.
- Where the winner lives in Darwin, Palmerston, Darwin Rural Areas or Alice Springs, they will be required to collect the prize from their closest CDU campus, on a date mutually suitable for the winner and the promoter.
- Where the winner lives outside these areas, the prize will be sent by mail within two-months of the date of the draw.
- The results of the draw are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
6. OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
- The prize will remain the property of Charles Darwin University, Corporate Communications until transfer of the title to the prize-winner on a date mutually agreed by the winner and promoter, no more than two months after the date of the draw. (except where the winner can not be notified and has not come forward).
- The winner of this prize must not, without the prior written consent, cause or permit the prize to be advertised or offered for sale, or enter into any other dealing in respect of the prize, until the prize has been legally transferred to the winner.
7. PRIVACY:
- By placing an entry in the prize draw you agree to your personal contact information being held and used by Charles Darwin University in accordance with the 10 National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act.
- By placing an entry in the prize draw you agree to receive information about Charles Darwin University and its products and services in the future.
- By placing an entry in the prize draw you consent to your name being announced on the CDU website, The Australian and Territory FM if you are the winner of the prize.
